Four hands-on sessions led by baristas — for anyone who's ever wanted to understand what's actually in their cup.
About This Program
Morning Café Club is a small-group workshop series led by barista — someone who loves the art of coffee. Over four sessions, you'll move from tasting and understanding coffee as a drinker, to actually making it yourself.
This isn't a lecture series. You'll be hands-on at the machine, tasting different roasts side by side, trying your hand at latte art, and leaving each week with something concrete you can take home. The group is small by design — enough people to make it interesting, few enough that you'll actually get time at the equipment.
No experience required. Just a genuine curiosity about what goes into a really good cup.
What's Included
All four hands-on sessions with a professional barista instructor
Coffee, espresso, and milk drinks consumed during each class
Use of all equipment — espresso machine, grinder, steaming wand
A consistent group across all four weeks — familiar faces, building on what you learned
A short take-home guide after each session summarising what you covered
An honest answer to the question you've always been afraid to ask at a coffee bar
Spring 2026 Sessions
Four sessions, each focused on something different. You build real knowledge week by week — and by the end, you'll be the person at brunch who actually knows what a ristretto is.
Session One
How to Know What You Like
A guided tasting of different roast levels, origins, and brewing methods. You'll learn how to describe what you're tasting and start building your own coffee vocabulary — no pretension required.
Session Two
Mastering the Espresso Machine
Everyone gets time at the machine. You'll learn how to grind, dose, tamp, and pull a shot — and understand why all those variables actually matter to the result in your cup.
Session Three
The Art of Steamed Milk
Flat white, cortado, cappuccino — the difference is mostly in the milk. This session covers steaming technique and an introduction to latte art: the heart, the tulip, and why it's harder than it looks.
Session Four
Pulling It All Together
A free-form final session where you make whatever you want — with guidance close by. We'll close with a group tasting and talk about where to keep learning on your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
None at all. The Morning Café Club is designed for curious people who enjoy a good cup — not coffee experts. Each session starts from the basics and builds gently from there.
Each session includes all ingredients, equipment use, printed tasting notes, and light accompaniments. You'll also leave with a set of reference notes to use at home.
Normally, Central Station programs are open to members only. But as an opening perk, we're inviting anyone to sign up for the Spring 2026 series — and your registration comes with a complimentary membership through the end of 2026. No separate sign-up needed.
Cancellations made more than 7 days before the first session are fully refunded. After that date, we're unable to offer refunds as bookings with our venue and instructor have been confirmed. No partial refunds are available — the program is sold as a complete series.
Each session runs approximately 90 minutes. We keep things unhurried — there's no rush and plenty of time to ask questions along the way.
