The Critic's Cut is a film series for people who like watching movies and actually talking about them afterward. Each session takes place at a local theatre — a real one, with real seats and real concessions — and pairs a screening with a critic's written review, shared before the lights go down.
The discussion happens after. No syllabus, no pressure to have read anything in advance. Just a small group of members, a film worth arguing about, and enough time to say what you actually thought.
This season's theme is Unreliable Narrators — three films where the person telling the story can't quite be trusted. Each one plays with the gap between what we're shown and what's actually true. They're the kind of movies that feel different the moment the credits roll.
- A season ticket covering all 3 screenings — one purchase, three films
- A critic's review shared before each film — something to hold in mind as you watch
- A facilitated group discussion after the screening
- The same group across all three films — conversation deepens as the season goes on
- Concessions available for purchase at the theatre
Three films. Each one puts a storyteller at the center who shapes — and sometimes distorts — everything we see. The critic's review is shared before the screening. The argument starts after.
